We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Girls Who Code! This fall, we’re launching a K-12 Girls Coding Club, and we can’t wait to get started! 🚀
The Club will be split into two groups:
Group A: Grades 3-5
Group B: Grades 6-12
Girls Who Code Clubs offer a chance for girls to be part of a supportive sisterhood where they can use Computer Science to change the world. With fun, interactive coding tutorials and community-building activities, each group will work together to design and build projects that solve real-world problems using code! 🌍💻
Group A (Grades 3-5) will focus on reading a mix of non-fiction and fiction. They’ll explore “Learn to Code and Change The World” and dive into the fiction book, “The Friendship Code.” They will also use Scratch to learn how to animate a sprite, create movement, build animations, and more! 🎨✨
Group B (Grades 6-12) will dive deeper into coding languages like Scratch, Python, Swift, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced coder, this club is for you! You'll learn how to create animations, games, apps, and so much more! 🎮💻
Join us as we help close the gender gap in tech! Contact the Sykesville Public Library to learn more and sign up for this exciting opportunity! Let’s code the future together.
